Yes
What experiences have best prepared you to hold elected office?
My curriculum at Georgia State University included studying an interdisciplinary program known as Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE), this along with additional coursework in economics allows me to understand how economics work at the state level and what tools are available to legislators to fix economic problems.
What would be your top priority upon winning office?
My top priority is expanding Medicaid in the state of Georgia. I have lost family members because they could not find affordable health care coverage within the state. The high cost of hospital bills, doctor visits, medications and health insurance premiums within our state prevented them from getting the health care they needed.
What actions would you take to enhance government transparency and trust in government?
I would fight for free and fair elections, and fight against voter suppression so more people have a direct say in the government. I would enhance transparency and trust in government by consulting with residents on their opinions on all legislation which is up for a vote.
Do you believe Georgia elections are secure and what additional security measures can be taken?
There are many measures which are in place to suppress the right to vote. These measures are discriminatory in nature and work to undermine the democratic process. This along with the abuse of voter challenges, discourages fair elections in Georgia. In order to secure Georgia elections we must make voter registration easier and remove obstacles to voting.
What is government's responsibility to ensure affordable housing?
It is the governments responsibility to prevent price gouging in the real estate market. We have large multi-national corporations who are out-bidding Georgians on houses, creating an artificial increase in property rates. Additionally the government must also control price gouging in the rental housing market. When large real estate companies collectively increase rent prices, it leads to less housing options for Georgia families.
Do you believe public access to public records is sufficient in your jurisdiction and, if not, what steps do you support to remedy that?
I believe we need more access to the financial records of politicians.
