What experiences have best prepared you to hold elected office?

Twenty years of experience.

What actions would you take to enhance government transparency and trust in government?

Continue to prosecute those that violate the laws of the state of Georgia, and abide by the Constitution.

The court system is increasingly seen as overtly political. What more can be done to assure the public that the courts are neutral arbitrators of the law?

As chief prosecutors, we should uphold our oath to handle all matters impartially. Unfortunately, some in our profession have used their role as prosecutors as a springboard for their own future aspirations. This conduct erodes the public trust in the judicial system and should be sanctionable.

What are your personal security concerns, given the increasing attacks on judges and court officials nationwide and the rise in hostility toward judicial officials generally?

Our circuit has strict policies and procedures that are followed with great care to ensure everyone is safe and secure in the judicial arena.

How will you manage large caseloads exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic?

Our circuit was the first to institute widespread video hearings and motions via a secure web service. As such, our backlog is minimal.

Do you believe public access to public records is sufficient in your jurisdiction and, if not, what steps do you support to remedy that?

Absolutely.
