What experiences have best prepared you to hold elected office?

I have over sever years of experience as a county commissioner. I have previously served as chair of the County Operations Committee and the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee. I currently serve as chair of the Finance, Audit and Budget Committee. I also served for two years as presiding officer of the board during two of the most challenging years in DeKalb County's history — the COVID 19 pandemic.

What would be your top priority upon winning office?

The most important responsibility that any government entity has is the safety of its citizens. Therefore, public safety will be my top priority. My approach will be full spectrum meaning I will focus on both the enforcement side and the prevention side.

What actions would you take to enhance government transparency and trust in government?

I will Improve DeKalb County's customer service delivery. Specifically, I will overhaul our permitting and purchasing and contracting processes to create a more customer friendly user experience.

Do you believe Georgia elections are secure and what additional security measures can be taken?

Yes. I believe that our elections in Georgia are secure.

What is government's responsibility to ensure affordable housing?

We should promote policies to help create a larger stock of quality affordable housing. Additionally, I would use the vehicle of public/private partnership to start a program of rehabilitating aging apartment complexes in DeKalb County to help create a stock of quality affordable housing.

Do you believe public access to public records is sufficient in your jurisdiction and, if not, what steps do you support to remedy that?

Our website in not very user friendly. This is something that I will significantly improve.
