Summary

Hubbard worked several decades at the Wilkes-Journal Patriot primarily as a journalist. He ran for a position in the state House of Representatives in 2022, but lost to Jeffrey Elmore. On Hubbard’s platform, he says he wants to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security, as well as expand access to affordable healthcare. He also includes tenets about strengthening the state economy, specifically by developing resilient agriculture in North Carolina in the face of climate change. Hubbard has taken the offensive against incumbent Virginia Foxx, who he characterizes as “dangerous but vulnerable.” His wife was a longtime state trooper and he is a ‘lifelong member’ of the North Wilkesboro Presbyterian Church.
