Corey is a Raleigh native who attended Fuller Elementary, Ligon Middle, and Enloe High Schools. He graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a degree in electrical engineering. He is married and has a daughter. Corey attends Baptist Grove Church.

Corey previously worked for the City of Raleigh at City Hall in the finance department and mail services. He has also chaired the Marrkens Development Group and served on the Board of Directors for WakeUp Wake County.

Corey Branch currently serves as the Raleigh City Council Member representing District C. He was first elected in 2015 and is serving his 4th term. He is the Chair of the Transportation and Transit Committee and Vice Chair for the Growth and Natural Resources Committee.
