Johnny Walker is currently the Marietta city council member representing Ward 3. He has served two terms and was first elected in 2014. He is chair of the Economic Development Committee, vice-chair of the Public Safety Committee and a member of the Public Works Committee. He is Mayor Pro Tem and Council Liaison to the Marietta Board of Education.

As a city council member, he wanted to ban bow hunting deer within city limits. He said, "deer, when you shoot it with an arrow, unless you're an awfully good, it's going to run for a while. It could run out into traffic, run into somebody's yard. Kid's shouldn't see that, and it's just dangerous."
