Antonio is originally from Venezuela. He moved to the U.S. as a refugee protected under political asylum and became an American citizen in 2015. He has lived in district 11 for 15 years. Barry lives with his wife, Desiree. They have three adult children and four grandchildren.

Barry has an information technology company in Cartersville, Georgia. He also founded and co-owned an aviation training business called Freedom Flight Center.
