Gregory is originally from Phoenix. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Math and Computer Science from the Colorado School of Mines. He volunteers as a member of the North Mountain and Deer Valley zoning commissions and a board member of the Bell Road Business Alliance, Black Mountain Community Alliance, and Kidzchiro Foundation.

Gregory currently works as a commercial property manager at MPB Realty. He previously worked as an escrow officer, notary, residential leasing agent, and construction manager.

Gregory Freeman's campaign for Maricopa County Assessor is his first run for public office.

Believes the 2016 law that stripped cities of their authority to regulate vacation rentals increased rental prices and made it harder for local residents to afford housing; supports "revisiting" the law.
