Eddie Cook was born in Okinawa, Japan. He holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from Arizona State University. He is married to his wife, Jenny, with whom he has 5 children and 4 grandchildren.

Eddie previously worked as a global technology strategist for NetApp and as an engineer for Rand Federal, SGI, and Motorola. 

Eddie Cook currently serves as the Maripoca County Assessor. He was appointed to this position in 2020, and elected later that year. He is currently serving his first term. He previously served as a member of the Gilbert Town Council. Eddie was elected to that position in 2011 and served for 3 terms. He was named to vice-mayor while serving as a councilmember. He served as the president of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association and chairman of the Maricopa Association of Government Domestic Violence Council.

In his free time, Eddie enjoys activities such as glider piloting, astrophotography, scuba diving, and exploring Arizona in his Jeep.

Eddie Cook was appointed to the Maricopa County Assessor’s Office in February 2020 and subsequently elected in November 2020. He has over 30 years of experience in the high-technology industry, including roughly 20 years in a leadership role at a technology company providing cloud-based data services to Fortune 100 companies. Additionally, he has served on the Arizona State Information Technology Authorization Committee. Prior to his role as Assessor, he was a member of the Gilbert Town Council from 2011-2020.

Eddie Cook was appointed to the Maricopa County Assessor's Office in February 2020 and subsequently elected to the position in November 2020. He served on the Gilbert Town Council from 2011 to 2020. During his time in public service, he has been involved in various committees, including serving as the president of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association and chairman of the Maricopa Association of Government Domestic Violence Council.
