Steve is from Phoenix, Arizona, and is single. He has been involved in numerous boards and commissions, including the Arizona Civil Right Advisory Board, the Maryvale Village Planning Committee, the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials, the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement, and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund.

Steve previously worked as a campaign finance administrator in the Maricopa County Elections Department.

Steve Gallardo currently serves as the County Supervisor representing District 5 on the Maricopa Board of Supervisors. He assumed office in 2015 and is serving his second elected term. He also serves as a Board Member of the Phoenix Union High School District.
