Cynthia holds a bachelor's degree in international relations from Drake University and a master of business administration degree in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. She lives in South Mountain. She is married to her husband, with whom she has 10 children and 28 grandchildren. She is an Evangelical Christian. 

Cynthia works as a director of logistics at Operation Eagle’s Wings. She is a co-founder of Kyrene Parent Network and the founder of Gift Of Love International Adoptions. 

Cynthia Ann Niemann ran for Polk County Supervisor in Iowa, but she did not win. She served as co-chairman for Polk County Republicans  She currently serves as first vice-chairman for Legislative District 11 Republicans.
