Michelle has a Bachelor's degree and Master's of Business Administration from the University of West Georgia. She also got a certification as County Commissioner from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and University of Georgia in 2015. She lives in Carrol County with her husband, Jimmy, and their three children. 

Michelle opened A Likely Story Book Center. She had been the Human Resources Manager for Morgan Oil for the past twenty years. 

Michelle was elected as County Commission Chair in Carroll County in 2019. She has served 1 term in the role. She was on Governor’s County Coronavirus Task Force in 2019.

- County Commission Chairs oversee the Board of County Commissioners, which create and pass laws at the county-level. These laws show up in very tangible ways, such as determining how much you pay property and sales tax rates, public transportation, and maintaining infrastructure.
