County chair candidates provide platforms: Courtney Long

Courtney grew up in the Plainview Community and graduated from Franklin County High School. She is married. She received an associate’s degree in applied science in agriculture and an animal science certification from Athens Technical College. She is a member of the Franklin County Schools parent board, and she and her family are members of Middle River Baptist Church.

Courtney manages the day-to-day operations of her cattle and poultry farm outside Carnesville.

- The County Commission Chair is specifically responsible for preparing the county budget, which must be passed by the rest of the County Commissioners.
