Kelly holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Southern Polytechnic State University and a master's degree in human relations from Liberty University. 

Kelly is a business owner. She previously served as the Dean of Enrollment Management with Tallulah Falls Schools and as Associate Director of Industrial Advancement with Piedmont College. She also worked at Emmanuel College as a Recruiter and Campus Pastor.
