2024 Georgia General Election Runoff

Clark is married with 3 sons. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in criminal justice from The University of West Georgia College. He is a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church and currently attends Sam Jones Methodist Church. 

Clark has been on the Board of Directors of North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy since 2015. He was previously a patrolman sergeant then investigator at the Cartersville Police Department. He was a Deputy Sheriff Investigator at the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office. 

Clark Millsap has been the Bartow County Sheriff since 2001. 

Believes "the Second Amendment is crucial to the safety and security of our citizens and our country."

Implemented "Citizens Firing Range Days" to teach citizens about gun safety and gun laws.

Implemented a "Citizens Police Academy" to teach citizens about the criminal investigations division, jail division, civil and court division, patrol and H.E.A.T. division, drug task force, and training.

Created a full-time budget for a "Victim's Advocate," helping victims of domestic abuse.

Has over 1,950 law enforcement training hours.

The County Sheriff is an elected official who acts as the chief law enforcement officer in their county. They are tasked with operating the county jails, keeping courtrooms secure during trials, and keeping the public safe through proper law enforcement. Each Sheriff's Office in Georgia may look a little different in how they hire and run their teams, but all County Sheriffs have the same duties. These duties include the following:

- Operating the county jail
- Providing court security
- Serving civil papers
- Executing arrest warrants
- Providing primary law enforcement within unincorporated areas of the county
- Working with city law enforcement officers to keep municipalities safe

The County Sheriff and their office are unique to other law enforcement agencies in that it has to answer to the people it serves. Historically, a turnover in the Sheriff’s office will likely result in noticeable change within the office, so voting for this office is a very effective way to vote approval or disapproval for how county law enforcement is conducted.
