CANDIDATES QUALIFY FOR COUNTY, STATE OFFICES

Anna graduated from Toombs County High School. She is married to her husband, Brent, with whom they have four children. Their family are members of Oasis Church of God, where she and her husband currently serve as Youth Pastors. She also serves as the Worship Leader.

Anna has experience working in the Toombs County Tax Commissioners Office. 

Anna Wommack Holcombe ran for Tax Commissioner in Toombs County in 2020, but did not win.

Plans to provide in-person support, and aims to address citizen matters in a prompt and professional manner.

Plans to install an option to pay for property taxes and tag renewals digitally.

Plans to install staff training for proficiency in being "phone etiquette, issue resolution, and professionalism."

Promises to implement an "open door policy" if elected, as she believes citizen communication is currently deficient in the Tax Commissioner's Office.

Holds top priority as having citizens feel important, heard, and that they are being treated with equal respect in the Tax Commissioner's Office.

Administration

Anna Wommack Holcombe

Tax Commissioners are elected at the county level, and their job is to oversee most phases of the taxing process. These responsibilities include billing, collecting, processing, and distributing taxes. They are generally in charge of property taxes, solid waste fees, public utilities, and renewing your vehicle tag. Notably, the Tax Commissioner does not determine how much taxes you pay. Because taxes are a source of revenue for counties, the tax commissioners’ work is ultimately beneficial to individual cities, education, transportation, and other local services. In addition to administering tax laws, the department is responsible for enforcing laws and  regulations pertaining to the control of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products in Georgia as well as motor vehicle license plate and title administration.
