Jason has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and government from Georgia State University and a Masters in Public Policy (MSPP) degree in regional economic development and information technology (IT) policy from Georgia Tech. Jason and his family are members of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church. He resides in Dallas, Georgia with his wife and daughters.

Jason has worked in the private sector and healthcare industry for nearly 20 years, focusing on employment solutions, skills gap training, and life skills development. He currently works for CareSource and previously worked for Amerigroup Corporation and Kaiser Permanente. Jason has also served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Chattahoochee Technical College and Georgia Chairman for Marco Rubio for President.

Jason Anavitarte is a State Senator for Georgia's 31st District, representing Paulding and Polk counties. He was elected State Senator in 2021 and Senate Majority Caucus Chair in 2023. Previously, he was a member of the Paulding County School Board and a Councilman for the City of Doraville.
