Eugene holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Morehouse College in 1992 and a law degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1995. He is a Georgia High School Mock Trial Coach, where he has been for 14 years and serves on the Board of Directors for a Georgia Children's Industrial Home. He is also affiliated with the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and the Morehouse College Alumni Association.
