Madison Announces Candidacy For Henry County Sheriff

C.J. grew up in Compton, California but he moved to Georgia in 2011. He has studied criminal justice and completed multiple training courses in law enforcement and fire fighting. C.J. lives in Stockbridge, Georgia with his family.

C.J. has worked with the Butts County Sheriff Department for over three years. Prior, he held various positions in the Fulton County Police Department and the Jonesboro Police Department. C.J. has also served in the United States Marine Corps. 

Cornell “C.J.” Madison Jr's campaign for county sheriff is his first entry into politics.

Plans to "tackle issues of violent crime, jail overcrowding, and the illicit drug trade within the county."

Plans to "expand training avenues for county residents, offering instruction in areas such as first aid, responding to active shooters, practicing firearms safety, and appropriately reporting potential criminal incidents (encouraging a “see something, say something” approach)."

SHERIFF SCANDRETT

Reginald has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from St. Leo University. He is also a graduate of the Mercer University Public Safety Leadership Institute and the U.S. Department of Justice F.B.I. Defensive Tactics Instructor School. Reginald and his wife have four children. He was elected as Vice-President of the Georgia Chapter of Black Law Enforcement Executives in 2016. 

Reginald was previously Chief Deputy of Dekalb County, where he managed Georgia’s largest Triple Crown accredited adult pre-trial detention facility. He started as a detention officer in Dekalb County.

Walter holds an associate's degree in English language and literature from Temple University and a degree in communications, English language and literature from Fayetteville Technical College. 

Walter held several positions in the law enforcement industry as a Deputy in the Warrants and Civil Division, Corrections Officer and a Drug Enforcement Agent. He previously worked as a Hostage Negotiator and as a Criminal Analyst. He also served in the Military and is a US Army veteran.

Walter J. Woolfork

Willie is originally from Georgia, and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Florida. He holds an associate's degree in hotel, motel, and restaurant management from Valencia College and a bachelor's degree in public safety from Mercer University. He is married to his wife and is a father. He previously served as a volunteer Sheriff Reserve Deputy and was on the Henry County Zoning Advisory Board. He is a member of Divine Faith Ministries International, where he serves as Elder and a mentor to young men  in the church. 

Willie is a Deputy Sheriff with the Henry County Board of Commissioners. He is also a veteran, having served as Chief Petty Officer with the US Navy.

Willie Brown

The County Sheriff is an elected official who acts as the chief law enforcement officer in their county. They are tasked with operating the county jails, keeping courtrooms secure during trials, and keeping the public safe through proper law enforcement. Each Sheriff's Office in Georgia may look a little different in how they hire and run their teams, but all County Sheriffs have the same duties. These duties include the following:

- Operating the county jail
- Providing court security
- Serving civil papers
- Executing arrest warrants
- Providing primary law enforcement within unincorporated areas of the county
- Working with city law enforcement officers to keep municipalities safe

The County Sheriff and their office are unique to other law enforcement agencies in that it has to answer to the people it serves. Historically, a turnover in the Sheriff’s office will likely result in noticeable change within the office, so voting for this office is a very effective way to vote approval or disapproval for how county law enforcement is conducted.
