Ben Paul Fremer

Kay earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky and her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Kay and her husband, Dr. Tom Haltom, have two children. They are active members of East Cobb United Methodist Church and live in Atlanta.

Kay is an orthopedic surgeon with over 30 years of experience, specializing in hand surgery, and served as the President of Resurgens Orthopaedics in Atlanta. She has also worked as a consultant and lecturer on patient safety in surgery.

Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick is a State Senator for Georgia Senate District 32. She has served 2 terms in this role. She serves as Chair of the Veterans, Military and Homeland Security Committee and as Chairman of the Senate Ethics Committee, as well as being a member of the Senate Health and Human Services, Insurance and Labor Committees.
