Maureen graduated from Spelman College with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, and received her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She currently lives in Rockdale County with her husband and three daughters. 

Maureen is currently serving as the first female and first African American Juvenile Court Judge in Rockdale County. She began her career as an associate at Burroughs & Keene, LLC, then became a partner at Wood & Wood, LLP.

- Georgia Superior Court Judges hear a wide range of criminal cases from petty theft and public drunkenness to murder. Some cases in front of the Georgia Superior Court involve the death penalty.
