Haralson County: About Judge Murphy

Mark was born in Polk County in Georgia, but grew up in Harelson County also in Georgia, graduating from Haralson County High School in 1978. He holds a bachelor's degree in applied physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1984 and a law degree from Georgia State University in 1992. He has three children, and resided in Cedartown when he was first elected as Superior Court Judge in 2018.  

Mark has served as judge for the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit Juvenile Court for 21 years and as a deputy sheriff in Haralson County, serving as a patrol deputy, certified Georgia peace officer, and Jail Administrator. He also has experience working at a private law practice at the Bremen law firm of Murphy, Murphy, & Garner and as an assistant city and county attorney.  

Mark H Murphy is a Superior Court Judge in the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit. He was elected to this position in 2018, and is currently serving his second term. He also served as Chief Magistrate Judge for Haralson County. He was elected to that position in 1988, and served four terms.
