Kori is originally from Bowling Green, Kentucky. She earned her bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky University and her law degree from Northern Kentucky University. She lives with her husband and their 2 children in Warren County. 

Kori previously worked as an assistant commonwealth's attorney as well as a staff attorney for two Kentucky circuit court judges, John Grise and Steve Wilson.
