Aaron is originally from Shelby County and attended Shelby County High School. He has a bachelor's degree in sociology from Morehead State University. He lives on his family’s farm with his wife, Sarah, and their 6 children. Aaron's family attends Heritage Christian Fellowship in Cropper, Kentucky. 

Aaron is a small business owner of Kodiak Koating, a custom firearms manufacturer, and Ops Supply, a firearms and archery retail store. He served as a Special Operations Senior Chief in the U.S. Navy for 23 years.
