She runs a non-profit focused on workforce development, subcontracting with agencies that serve seniors, disabled individuals, tribal members, and veterans. She is a member of Montana Small Schools Alliance, Transit Research Bureau, Missoula Pachyderm, and Judicial Watch.

Lyn Hellegaard began her career as a local banker and then started a small business with her husband. Lyn was elected to the Missoula City Council in 2007. Post-city council, Lyn served as the chair of the Ravalli County Veteran’s Service Center.

Lyn Hellegaard is currently the State Representative for the Montana State House District 97. She is currently running for re-election for State House District 89. Lyn has served as State Representative since 2023.
