Raleigh E. Scales is currently a member of the Surry County Board of Education. She was elected in 2024 and is serving her first term.

Raleigh is currently employed at J.G. Coram Company as a controller. He previously worked as a tax associate at Aprio, and has experience working in financial management and assistant positions at locations such as Northwestern Mutual and Capital Bank. He was also employed at Federal Financial Services, Inc. in positions ranging from financial assistant to director of operations.

Raleigh resides in Surry County with his wife and child. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting and a master's degree in business administration and management from Gardner-Webb University.
