Chad Brown attended North Greenville University. He is rom Gastonia, NC. He attended North Gaston High School. He is a Christian and attends Flint Groves Baptist Church. He has two children.

Chad Brown is a former professional baseball player for the Toronto Blue Jays and Pittsburgh Pirates, who transitioned into politics. He has also been involved in economic development within local government. He currently works at Pennsylvania Steel Company. 

Chad Brown has served on the County Commission for three terms, totaling 12 years, with the last two years as Chairman. He was also elected as the Mayor of Stanley prior to his tenure on the County Commission.
