2024 NC Primary Elections

Jefferson was born and raised in Red Oak, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 2003 with a bachelor's degree and from North Carolina Central School of Law with a law degree. Jefferson is married to his wife Katye and has a son, Jay. They are members of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Raleigh.

Jefferson has served as a judge on various different courts since 2015. Before his judicial appointment, Jefferson was a prosecutor with the Wake County District Attorney's Office. He is a veteran and serves as a captain and judge advocate general (JAG) officer in the North Carolina Army National Guard. Jefferson has also worked as a charter fisherman on the North Carolina coast. 

Jefferson was elected as a judge to the North Carolina Court of Appeals in 2020. Previously, he was appointed as a District Court Judge in Wake County by Governor McCrory in 2015. He was elected to serve a full term in this position in 2016.

Judge Jefferson G. Griffin was born and raised on a farm in Red Oak, North Carolina, and attended Northern Nash High School where he was the captain of the football team. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003. Judge Griffin, along with his wife Katye and their son Jay, are members of Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Raleigh.

Judge Jefferson G. Griffin serves on the North Carolina Supreme Court. Prior to this, he worked as a charter fisherman on the North Carolina coast after earning his United States Coast Guard Captain’s license. He is also a JAG Officer in the North Carolina Army National Guard and has been deployed to the Middle East. His past service includes being on the Board of Directors for the Raleigh Kiwanis Club and the Wake County Bar Association.
