Alicia is from Cincinnati and attended Withrow High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in communications and Spanish from Grambling State University. Alicia attends New Friendship Baptist Church and is a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She is also a founding member of the National Urban League of Young Professionals in Cincinnati.

Alicia is an entrepreneur and serves as an advertising, marketing, and political consultant. She is also the radio host of the show and podcast "Alicia Reece Soulfood."

Alicia Reece currently serves as Commissioner for Hamilton County. She was elected in 2020 and is serving her first term. She previously served as Vice Mayor on the Cincinnati City Council from 2002 to 2007 and was an Ohio State Representative for four terms from 2010 to 2018.
