Jack is a lifelong resident of Lorain County, Ohio. He earned bachelor's degrees in journalism and psychology from Bowling Green State University. He lives his wife Joy in Columbia Station. He has 4 adult children.

Jack is a 33-year veteran of law enforcement who recently served as a Chief of Police in Northeast Ohio and is currently commissioned as a Deputy Sheriff. He joined the Cleveland Metroparks Police Department in 2007 as the Captain of Special Operations and later led security patrol operations for Westfield Insurance and Westfield Bank, becoming the first Chief of Police of the Westfield OFIC Police Department.
