Jim Hart is a lifelong resident of Westland. He is married to his wife, Linda, and they have three children together. Jim has a bachelor's degree in business management from the University of Phoenix and a master's degree in information systems from the University of Michigan.

Jim is a project manager at Verizon Wireless. Previously, he served 15 years in the United States Army as a non-commissioned officer.

Jim is the current city council president for Westland. He has served on the city council since 2018.
