Victoria Camille is a lifelong Detroiter. She holds a bachelorâs degree in business administration from Davenport University. She is a proud mother of two adult children and a loving caretaker to three cats and three dogs. She enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, prayer, and reflection.

Detroit police oversight board will not have primary election

Victoria is currently the Secretary of the Detroit Board of Police Commissioners. She was appointed in 2023 and served one year. Victoria's campaign for Detroit Police Commissioner, District 7, is her first entry into politics.

As a member of the Coalition for Police Transparency and Accountability (CPTA), partnered with other members to draft a First Amendment Activities policy for the Detroit Police Department, designed to protect people exercising their First Amendment rights in lawful rallies, marches, protests, and union strikes from harassment, retaliation, and other harm by law enforcement.

Advocated for a bill package aimed at reducing police violence, bias-based policing, and improving community trust in law enforcement.

As a community advocate, called for the release of body camera footage from the eviction killing of Sherman Lee Butler and reviewed the incident against police policies.

Supports transparency in law enforcement, advocating for an ordinance mandating public release of police body camera footage whenever police use force.
