Ben Harman was raised on a small farm in Bear Creek, North Carolina. He attended Woods Charter School, North Carolina State University, and earned a bachelor of science in food science and a bachelor of arts in science, technology, and society. He later completed a master of science in nutrition with a graduate certificate in feed science. He lives with his wife and four children in Franklinville. He is Episcopalian.

Ben's campaign for Franklinville Mayor is his first entry into politics.

Believes in accountable, transparent use of public funds and will ensure Franklinville's budget reflects community priorities and long-term sustainability.

Believes the greatest challenge facing Franklinville is managing municipal growth while preserving the town's character.
