Craig Warren is a lifelong resident of Newton Grove. He retired as a transportation consultant for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction after 30 years. He lives with his wife, a retired Johnston County Board of Education member, and their daughter, Brittany, a school teacher in Nash County. He attends St. Paul Free Will Baptist Church in Newton Grove.

Craig is currently the mayor of Newton Grove. He was first elected in 2023 and is serving his first term. Before becoming mayor, Craig served on the Newton Grove Town Council from 2020 to 2023.
