Tamara Sheffield has lived and worked in Salisbury for over 30 years. She earned a bachelor of science degree with a minor in marketing and a master of business administration from North Carolina State University. She is a volunteer, an activist, and a professional. She regularly participates in local charity events and is currently serving on the Smart Start Rowan board. She is also a Legacy Board member of Salisbury Pride. She enjoys participating in Volkswagen Camping Events, volunteering for various non-profits, and taking advantage of all the great activities the City of Salisbury has to offer.

Tamara is a senior key account manager at Frito-Lay, where she has worked for 29 years. During her tenure, she has filled nine roles, managed hundreds of employees, and been responsible for budgets totaling $140 million.

Tamara is currently the mayor of Salisbury. She was appointed mayor in February 2025 after previously serving as mayor pro tem. Tamara has been on the Salisbury City Council since first being elected in 2017. She is currently serving her fourth term.

Plans to make Salisbury an "employer of choice" and advocate for citizens and employees.

Believes in building relationships rooted in integrity to support all citizens.
