Destiny is from Virginia’s Northern Neck. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, and Latin American studies from the University of Richmond and a master’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University. She lives with her husband, Chris, in Henrico, Virginia.

Destiny is the Communications Director of the Virginia AFL-CIO, where she advocates for over 330,000 union members and their families across the Commonwealth. She previously worked as an educator, teaching students in underserved communities.
