Kyle Thompson is originally from Barrow County, Georgia. He earned dual bachelor's degrees in economics and geography from the University of Georgia and a law degree from Mercer University School of Law. Kyle lives in Winder with his wife and son, and attends Winder First Baptist Church.


Kyle currently serves as Barrow County Solicitor General. He was first appointed in August 2025 and is seeking election for his first full term.


Kyle works as an assistant district attorney in the Walton County District Attorney's Office. He also previously served as an assistant district attorney in the Western Judicial Circuit and as an assistant solicitor general in Macon-Bibb County.
