Brett Guthrie is originally from Florence, Alabama. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his master's degree in public and private management from Yale University. He lives with his wife, Beth, their three adult children, and one grandchild in Bowling Green, Kentucky. 

Brett is a U.S. Representative for Kentucky’s 2nd Congressional District. He works at the U.S. House of Representatives, where he has been since January 2009.
