Lori Liggett grew up on a small family farm in Box Butte County and has lived in western Nebraska her whole life. She lives in Gordon with her family.

- Community Colleges are authorized by the Legislature to be locally governed. The Board is usually made up of 11 members, 2 of each of its five districts and an at-large member. They usually elect a chairperson, vice-chairperson, and secretary.
