I’m Kimberly Garber Keiserman, a 25-year resident of Port Washington, the Long Island community where I have raised my daughters with my husband, John. My educational background includes a BA and M.Ed. from the College of William & Mary, and I’ve dedicated much of my career to education advocacy and consultancy.

Kim Keiserman earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education from the College of William & Mary. She has lived in Port Washington for 25 years and raised her daughters there with her husband, John.

I began my career as a high school social studies teacher, and later, my path led me to the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding, where I crafted resources to help teachers create inclusive classrooms, promote religious literacy, and combat religious bigotry and bullying. I went on to work as a freelance consultant, developing curricula and educational tools that foster respect for religious and cultural differences.

Kim began her career as a high school social studies teacher. She later worked at the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding and as a freelance consultant developing curricula and educational tools.

Efforts to reach Norber were unavailing.

Keiserman previously ran for state Senate in 2024 in the 7th District. In that race, she lost to Republican Sen. Jack Martins, who received 88,074 votes, or 55.2%. Keiserman earned 71,546 votes, or 44.8%.

Too many New Yorkers are uninsured or underinsured and forced to delay or forgo care because of cost. These barriers contribute to unacceptable health disparities.

Kim supports a health care system that is patient-centered, not profit-driven, and guarantees access to comprehensive care, including primary and specialty care, mental health services, reproductive care, dental, vision, hearing, long-term care, and affordable prescription drugs. Kim supports the goal of universal health care and believes the transition to a single-payer system must be done carefully and responsibly.

Kim also supports strengthening the health care workforce by addressing the nursing shortage, demanding safe staffing ratios, and fixing Tier 6 to protect the retirement security of health care workers.

With reproductive rights under attack all across the country, Kim believes that New York must be a leader in protecting women’s freedom.
