Eddie Shuford has a bachelor 27s degree in business management from Western Carolina University. He and his wife, Rebecca, have lived in the Pleasant Gardens community for almost 30 years. They have four adult children and two granddaughters.

Eddie is the director of industry engagement at McDowell Technical Community College. He previously worked as an HRD instructor at Mayland Community College for almost five years and at McDowell Technical Community College for eleven years. Before working in education, he spent 26 years in industrial management, with responsibilities ranging from shift supervisor to corporate-level quality assurance. 

Eddie is currently a member of the McDowell County Board of Education representing the Pleasant Gardens District.
