The TCS Board Meeting Monday evening marked the end of terms for three board members. Mr. Bryan O'Neill, Mrs. Tawny McCoy and Chair Mr. Kimsey Jackson all reached the end of their terms on the school board. They have each dedicated their time and talents to the school board; as well as each school, teachers and students. We are grateful for their dedication.

That our courthouse is replaced by a clean modern facility where we can once again hold court. That our infrastructure will support the future we want our children to grow up in. I will work foster an environment of cooperation between the cities and communities in our county and make sure that voters are fully informed about county business.

I will fight to make sure that our teachers, first responders and other workers can find housing in our county that they can afford. That the school bond money the voters approved is spent on the right things and in a timely manner so that our schools will no longer be compared to those in a third world country. As a school board member, voted for a plan to manage initial school construction and repair funding.

How the school board plans to manage the first tranche of money from the anticipated sale of school bonds was the subject of hours of debate during the special called meeting. Collaboration in hiring a construction project manager and transparency emerged as the top priorities in the school board’s plans.

Board member Bryan O'Neill and Vice-Chair Tanya Dalton voted in favor of the plan.
