When asked why she was seeking a District Court seat in 2018, Evans said that judges interpret the law, assess the evidence presented, and control how hearings and trials unfold in their courtrooms. She added: “Most of all, judges should be impartial decision-makers in the pursuit of justice.”

In a 2018 candidate Q&A about the experience people should take away from appearing in her court, Evans said: “Your right to fair and impartial justice is one of your most essential freedoms. One of my primary objectives as a judge will be for plaintiffs, defendants, lawyers, probation officers, police officers, witnesses or family members to know that coming before me will always be about justice and never about fear or favor.”

In describing her intended courtroom practice during a 2018 candidate Q&A, Evans said that appearances before her would be about “justice and never about fear or favor,” then stated: “I promise to always exhibit judicial temperament: patience, open-mindedness, courtesy, understanding and common sense.”

Caitlin is from Fayetteville, North Carolina. She attended Terry Sanford High School. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has a bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a focus in rhetoric from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has a law degree from New England Law Boston. She lives with her husband, Hunter, and one child.

Caitlin is a District Court Judge. She previously worked at the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor for four and a half years and at a private law firm as a traffic and criminal defense attorney for five and a half years.

As a District Court Judge, Evans has 15 years of experience working in the local District Attorney’s Office and running her own law practice.

Serves as President of the Board for Better Health and on the Boards of the Child Advocacy Center and the David McCune International Art Gallery at Methodist University.
