Brian Estes is from Sanford, North Carolina. He has an associate's degree in criminal justice from Central Carolina Community College and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Mount Olive College. He and his wife, Ashley, have a son.

Lee County Sheriff's Office

Brian is the sheriff of Lee County. He began his law enforcement career in 2002 with the Lee County Sheriff's Office. He has served as a patrol deputy, domestic violence investigator, criminal investigator, narcotics agent, task force officer, and homeland security officer. He also previously worked as a general instructor and specialized physical fitness instructor at the North Carolina Justice Academy and Central Carolina Community College.

Brian is currently the Lee County Sheriff. He was appointed to the position in January 2022.

As sheriff, became a Specialized Physical Fitness Instructor and started a Physical Fitness program within the Lee County Sheriff’s Office along with teaching Physical Fitness training to Basic Law Enforcement Training Cadets and Detention Officers.
