Stephen Smith is a lifelong, sixth-generation resident of Union County and has lived in Stallings nearly his entire life. He earned his associate degree from Central Piedmont Community College and his bachelor's degree in leadership in the public sector from North Carolina State University in 2015. He is a graduate of the Hairstyling Institute of Charlotte. He is the father of a current middle school student in the Union County Schools.

Stephen has been a barber for 28 years and has owned his own barber shop since 2012. He began working at his current shop in 1997
