Quentin Miller

He previously served as a member of the Asheville Police Department's original community policing unit, where he received Officer of the Year and Overall Regional Awards for initiating a street ministry and midnight basketball program for at-risk youth. He also led a job training program for unemployed community members and ran a summer camp for at-risk youth for nearly a decade. Before joining the police force, he served in the U.S. Army.

Quentin is currently the sheriff of Buncombe County. He was first elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022. He is the first African American sheriff of Buncombe County.
