Ronnie Fields

Ronnie is the Sheriff of Moore County. He works at the Moore County Sheriff’s Office, where he has served for over 30 years. He previously worked as a Deputy with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office from 1983 to 1987, as an officer with the North Carolina Highway Patrol from 1987 to 2009, and as a Captain and then Major with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office from 2009 to 2013.

Ronnie Fields is currently the Moore County Sheriff. He was elected in 2018 and has served one term. He previously served on the Carthage Town Board from 1999 to 2007 and as Mayor of Carthage from 2007 to 2009. He defeated outgoing Sheriff Neil Godfrey in the Republican primary and took office in January 2019. Fields ran for re-election in the Republican primary on May 17, 2022, and in the general election on November 8, 2022, defeating Independent Steve Adams.
