Sally Montgomery earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics and biology from Southern Methodist University, a master's degree in environment studies from the University of North Texas, and a law degree from the Baylor University School of Law. Sally lives in Dallas, Texas and is a member of the All Saints Anglican Church. 

Sally is a judge. She works at the Dallas County Court-at-Law, where she has been since January 2003. She previously worked as an assigned district judge in Dallas County from 2001 to 2002, as a judge in the 95th District Court from 1997 to 2000, and as a chemistry teacher at Ursuline Academy and as a chemistry and mathematics teacher at Thomas Jefferson High School.
