Rafael Anchia graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and received his juris doctor from Tulane Law School. He lives in North Oak Cliff with his wife, Rebecca, and they have two daughters together. He worships with the Catholic Campus Community at SMU.

Rafael is an attorney at Haynes and Boone, LLP. He previously worked as an attorney for Patton Boggs LLP. He also served as an appointee to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations during President Barack Obama's administration. He has also worked as a guest lecturer at Saint Mary's University School of Law, an adjunct professor at Texas Tech University Law School, and a visiting professor at Tulane University School of Law.
