- The function of the Court of Appeals is to correct decisions made by lower courts. Appellate decisions are final unless overruled by the Supreme Court. 
- Wisconsin's Court of Appeals has 16 judges, elected from four districts. Judges are elected for six-year terms in non-partisan April elections.
- Decisions are generally made in three-judge panels with a written decision issued in every case. 
- Appellate Judges earn $174,357 annually.
